RJ Wheaton was raised in the UK and has lived in California, the Netherlands, and now Canada. He has a couple of master’s degrees; has worked in web development and book retail; and is currently SVP Digital at Penguin Random House Canada.

RJ Wheaton has written extensively about books and music and from 2005-2011 was Senior Producer for PopMatters.com, the international magazine of cultural criticism. In 2011 his volume on Portishead’s Dummy was published in Continuum’s 33 1/3 series.

He believes in (1) the inherent goodness of humanity, (2) the notion that science and technology will save us if we tend to art, and (3) the restorative powers of a good plate of nachos. Likes: jazz (hard bop); Mexico 66s; American pragmatism.
